Penn Summit Insurance Agency Becomes Pennsylvania’s First Highway Certified Insurance Agency
Certification strengthens Penn Summit’s commitment to accurate insurance data, accountability and better support for motor carriers.
CHALK HILL, Pa. — August 6, 2026 — Penn Summit Insurance Agency is proud to announce that it has become Pennsylvania’s first Highway Certified Insurance Agency, marking an important milestone for its Transportation Insurance Department and the motor carriers it serves.
The Highway Certified Insurance Agency program establishes clear standards for agencies that provide Certificates of Insurance and coverage information to Highway. Certified agencies commit to the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the insurance data they submit.
“This certification is more than a designation,” said Penn Summit’s Transportation Team. “It reflects our commitment to standing behind the information we provide and helping motor carriers avoid unnecessary insurance-related delays.”
“When the agency behind the data holds itself to a higher standard, motor carriers, brokers and the freight industry all benefit.”
What Highway Certification Means
As a Highway Certified Insurance Agency, Penn Summit follows defined standards for Certificates of Insurance, vehicle information and ongoing policy communication.
Those standards include:
Naming Highway as certificate holder on qualifying Certificates of Insurance.
Providing accurate coverage information with complete VIN-level details for scheduled-auto policies.
Promptly reporting cancellations, non-renewals and changes affecting coverage.
These requirements help keep the insurance information connected to a motor carrier’s Highway profile accurate, complete and current
Benefits for Motor Carriers
Freight brokers rely on trustworthy carrier information when reviewing companies for onboarding and load opportunities. Brokers using Highway can see when a motor carrier works with a Highway Certified Insurance Agency.
That visible certification provides an added trust signal and may help reduce missing-document requests, insurance-related questions and compliance delays.
Highway’s certification materials state that carriers represented by Certified Insurance Agencies may be easier to approve, faster to onboard and better positioned when brokers select qualified carriers. Certification does not guarantee approval or freight opportunities, but it can help remove unnecessary friction from the process.
Highway reports that its platform supports more than 80% of brokered loads in the United States.
A Higher Standard for Transportation Insurance
Penn Summit’s Transportation Insurance Department serves a wide range of trucking and transportation businesses, including:
Owner-Operators • Growing Fleets • Local and Regional Carriers • Long-Haul Operations • Dump Trucks • General Freight • Specialty Hauling • New Ventures
“We are incredibly proud to bring this distinction to Pennsylvania,” Penn Summit’s Transportation Team said. “Our clients work hard to build their businesses, and they deserve an insurance agency that understands how accurate information and timely service can affect their ability to keep moving.”
Penn Summit combines transportation insurance experience with personal service, helping clients understand their coverage, organize required documentation and communicate important changes as their operations grow.
